Welcome to Warrington's Planning Consultation Portal

Listed within this welcome page are all of the council's planning policy consultations. These can be filtered by selecting an option from the 'show consultations for' box below.

Consultations can take the form of documents, questionnaires / surveys or forms on a given topic. You can search the entire Consultation Portal using the 'search' box above. You can also search for comments, consultees and agents by clicking on 'who said what?' above.

In some instances you will be asked to register or log-in ore being able to participate in a consultation event. To register, please click on the 'register' link within the 'login' section. Please note that any comments you submit will be made available for everyone to view at the end of the consultation.

The current Local Development Scheme (LDS) which sets out timetables for Local Development Framework (LDF) document production can be viewed on the Council website.

 Pre Publication Draft Core Strategy DetailsPre Publication Draft Core Strategy
Description:
The Council has published a ‘Pre Publication Draft Core Strategy’ for comment. Warrington's Core Strategy is the overarching strategic policy document in the Local Development Framework which, once adopted will replace the Unitary Development Plan adopted in January 2006. It sets out a planning framework for guiding the location and level of development in the Borough up to 2027, as well as a number of principles that will shape the way that Warrington and specific areas within it will develop between now and then. As you may be aware, the Borough Council has previously consulted on a number of stages of the Core Strategy. The document is supported by evidence (available on Warrington Borough Council Website) and Background Papers (available through this portal) which set out how the policies have developed through various stages of consultation and provide the detailed reasons for their justification, including why a particular policy approach has been selected. To make sure that the Draft Core Strategy reflects the needs and wishes of our communities and stakeholders we are inviting you to send us comments on the pre-publication document before it is finalised for formal publication and examination in public, where there will be further opportunity to comment and shape the document.

 Core Strategy Sustainability Appraisal Report DetailsCore Strategy Sustainability Appraisal Report
Description:
The Council has produced a Sustainability Appraisal Report  to accompany Pre Publication Draft Core Strategy. European and UK Regulations introduced the requirement for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of all plans and programmes that have a significant environmental effect. The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 made the broader Sustainability Appraisal (SA) process a requirement for certain documents produced as part of a Local Development Framework. The purpose of Sustainability Appraisal is to promote sustainable development through the integration of social, environmental and economic considerations into the preparation of new Development Plan Documents (DPDs) and Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). The Sustainability Appraisal Appendices are also available for comment.
